A lamp, valve or motor supply that repeatedly appears and disappears can reflect an output device attempting to restart after a fault. The pulse pattern alone does not identify the original cause.
How to narrow it down
Record voltage and current together and establish whether the controller is deliberately changing its command. Compare the load condition with the fitted driver’s protection behaviour. This separates a commanded cycle from an overload response or unstable incoming supply.
What to include with the fault report
Include a recording long enough to show several cycles and the operating command.
A retry interval from one electronic component is not a universal vehicle specification. The circuit and its software determine what is expected.
Speak to AXION
For ECU testing and component-level repair, send your vehicle details and fault report. Workshop assessment is in Didcot, Oxfordshire. Suitable postal or remote work is confirmed before booking.
Technical background from Texas Instruments. The referenced design explains the principle; the vehicle-specific procedure determines the repair.
