Tell the repairer which trim and nearby components were disturbed. Appearance and fit do not establish that underlying safety equipment is unaffected. The warning needs assessment rather than being dismissed as an expected result of cosmetic work.

Before arranging work
An SRS warning deserves qualified assessment. Do not probe deployment circuits, fit bypass devices or suppress the lamp. A controller operation alone cannot establish the condition of belts, airbags, sensors and wiring elsewhere on the vehicle.
