A harsh automatic restart needs distinction from ordinary vibration or a change in engine sound. Record whether manual starting is also affected and whether the complaint begins only when the vehicle is warm.
Compare the restart conditions
Note climate load, transmission position and any warning. Include recent battery, engine-mount or transmission work. Do not deliberately recreate unpredictable movement in traffic.
The workshop should consider mechanical and control evidence rather than assuming the start-stop software is the cause. If the function can be switched off through normal user controls, follow the manual while arranging assessment; that does not establish a repair. Verification should address the actual automatic restart and resulting vehicle response, not only a successful conventional start.
