A button fault following steering-wheel or column work needs the repair sequence recorded. State which controls fail and whether the horn, illumination or other functions changed. Do not dismantle the wheel yourself: restraint-system components may be present.
Keep the symptoms specific
Do all buttons fail, only one group, or only an infotainment function? Does the vehicle display a restraint or steering warning? Preserve those reports together while keeping the actual customer complaint clear. The same location does not prove that every symptom has one cause.
Review compatibility and installation
If parts were changed, include old and new identifiers and any coding performed. The technician should assess the correct fitted arrangement and follow its safety procedures. A new button assembly is not automatically compatible merely because it fits the wheel.
