USB Socket Charges a Phone but Will Not Connect to the Car

Charging a phone and establishing a data connection are different functions. Record whether the complaint concerns wired phone projection, media playback or another feature. Check the vehicle and phone documentation for compatibility before assuming the socket is faulty.

Describe the connection path

Include the socket used, cable type and any hub or adapter. Note whether a known compatible setup previously worked and whether the problem followed an update or accessory installation. Avoid inserting damaged cables or forcing a loose connector.

Separate device support from vehicle diagnosis

A phone permission or software issue can require a different support route from a physically damaged port. Preserve the on-screen message and whether the car detects a device at all. Do not provide account passwords or private phone contents in a technical enquiry.

For AXION, give the vehicle’s infotainment version where known and the exact symptom. Ask whether the supported assessment covers the vehicle’s socket and electronics. A charging result alone cannot certify the data path, while one incompatible cable does not prove a vehicle defect. Agree the initial checks before replacing a media hub or head unit.
