A screen that restarts during a journey needs a different enquiry from a car that loses all electrical power. Tell the workshop which display disappears, whether sound stops, and whether the vehicle continues operating normally. A short recording made by a passenger or while parked is more useful than “the computer keeps crashing”.
What the published example covers
HELLA’s BMW i3 bulletin describes electric i3 models from 2013–2022 with repeated infotainment restarts and lost settings. It identifies software as a possible explanation once other causes have been excluded and recommends checking the applicable update. This is a published technical example, not an AXION customer repair record.
Build a useful enquiry
- Record the displayed software version and photograph any message.
- Note whether the issue follows phone connection, navigation use or a particular journey stage.
- List any lost paired phones, radio presets and menu functions separately.
- Include the history of battery work, accessory installation and previous programming.
Avoid purchasing a used screen or controller solely because the display goes blank. Send the original unit’s identification first; the visible screen and the electronics responsible for its behaviour need not be the same component. An update enquiry also needs the exact vehicle and current software, not simply a model year.
Ask AXION about programming assessment. For symptoms affecting several electrical systems, compare the BMW i3 B+ supply example and explain which pattern you actually see.
Use the full fault description from your scan and the repair information for your vehicle.
