Transmission behaviour can depend on information from other systems. If a gearbox complaint appears alongside a wheel-speed problem, keep the complete scan and sequence rather than treating them as unrelated jobs.
Establish which event came first
Record ABS or stability warnings, recent wheel work and the change in shifting. The technician should consult the vehicle’s information to determine which signals the transmission uses and whether the relationship is relevant.
Do not replace the TCU because it recorded a consequence of missing information. Equally, do not assume one repaired wheel circuit settles every gearbox issue. Verification should compare the original complaint after the evidenced fault is addressed and identify any remaining independent problem.
