An invoice description and a diagnostic identifier may refer to different aspects of the supplied unit. Resolve the mismatch before concluding that the wrong gearbox controller was fitted.
Compare like-for-like identifiers
Keep the assembly label, hardware number, software version and supplier documentation. Ask the installer which identity each field represents and what compatibility check was performed. Do not rename or alter diagnostic records to make them agree.
If an actual mismatch is confirmed, the provider should explain the supported correction route. Retain the original unit and logs. A clear record helps distinguish a documentation error, expected updated software and a genuinely unsuitable replacement requiring further action.
