MG4 EV charging warning and motor warning need different enquiries

For an MG4 EV enquiry, photograph the warning symbol and the full message. “Electrical fault” can describe several different complaints, and a charging indicator should not be confused with a motor or high-voltage battery warning.

Follow the instruction for the actual warning

The MG4 owner manual distinguishes charging status, a charging or discharging fault, and drive-system warnings. It gives urgent stop and assistance instructions for certain motor and battery-temperature conditions. Read the relevant instruction in the manual supplied for your car before attempting another journey or charge.

MG now lists several MG4 handbook entries. Confirm the exact version and model year, including whether the vehicle is an MG4 EV Urban, rather than applying an older MG4 instruction automatically.

Make the report specific

If the problem is charging, describe whether the car would not start a session or stopped after taking energy. Include AC or DC, the charging provider’s message and the approximate battery percentage. If the problem is driving, record whether the car would become ready and what warning accompanied any power restriction.

Tell us if both happened, in the order they occurred. Save the scan before codes are cleared and keep any earlier workshop report. A list of parts already replaced is useful when it includes dates and the effect each change had on the symptom.

Before a controller or charger quote

Ask which evidence identifies the suspected component and whether the complete vehicle is required for assessment. Do not buy a controller simply because a forum post describes a similar dashboard message. Hardware, software and model details need to be checked for your car.

AXION can consider the enquiry once the exact MG4 version, warning and report are supplied. We will confirm the assessment route before you book transport or send a unit. This page does not diagnose a charging-control unit, inverter or battery failure from a warning lamp alone. High-voltage access belongs with trained personnel following the correct manufacturer procedure.
