A starter that appears to remain engaged or powered after the engine starts requires prompt attention. Stop following the vehicle’s safe shutdown guidance and seek assistance; do not continue repeated starting tests.
Record the event without reproducing it
Describe the sound, duration and whether releasing the key or normal start control changed it. Include ignition-switch, starter or relay work. A recording is useful only if it can be obtained without exposing anyone to risk.
The workshop should distinguish electrical command from mechanical engagement using the correct procedure. Do not bridge or remove unfamiliar live connections as an improvised repair. Provide the history before components are sent for assessment so the suspected controller is not considered independently of the starter and vehicle circuit.
