A change in displayed energy consumption after new tyres is worth comparing carefully before suspecting battery deterioration. The tyre specification, pressure, route, weather and heating use all affect whether two journeys are a fair comparison.
Collect a usable comparison
Keep the old and new tyre specifications, the date fitted and pressures checked according to the vehicle instructions. Compare similar routes rather than a short cold trip with a previous long warm journey. Note any pulling, vibration or warning that began with the tyre work.
Do not overinflate tyres to chase a lower consumption figure. If the installation seems incorrect or handling has changed, return to the tyre professional for assessment. For an electrical enquiry, provide the consumption trend and any genuine charging or battery warnings separately. A range estimate recalculating after changed driving conditions is not, on its own, a measurement of battery capacity or proof of an electronic fault.
