ECU testing, calibration and software-file support for owners and garages. Tell us about the vehicle, the present software and the outcome you want. We will review the application and agree the work before programming begins.
Calibration and vehicle software
AXION supports suitable ECU calibration and remapping enquiries alongside our repair and programming work. The starting point is the exact ECU and the condition of the vehicle. Include any existing faults, previous calibration changes and fitted hardware so the proposed work can be assessed properly.
For a road vehicle, the intended work must suit its use and retain the required emissions and safety functions. Discuss proposed modifications with your insurer before proceeding. The scope and price are confirmed after review; power and economy changes are not guaranteed from a vehicle model or a generic file description.
ECU testing and assessment
If the engine is not running correctly, a warning is present or an ECU is suspected of failing, start with an assessment enquiry. Send the symptoms and diagnostic report. We will establish whether vehicle diagnosis, supported bench testing, software review or another repair route is appropriate.
Tell us whether the unit still communicates and what has already been checked. Testing scope depends on the unit and the reported fault. Agree which checks are included and whether the car is needed before removing or posting a module.
File support for garages
We also take ECU file-service enquiries for supported applications. This can include calibration review, suitable file preparation and original-software enquiries where a compatible, authorised route is available. File preparation, installation and vehicle checks are separate parts of the job and should be agreed together.
Send the vehicle details and ECU identification first. If you already have a file, tell us the tool, reading method, file type and whether the tool is Master or Slave. We will confirm acceptance and the file-transfer arrangement before you send the working files. A read or write function on a tool does not by itself confirm that a particular calibration is suitable.
Information that helps us quote
- Make, model, year, engine, fuel type and transmission.
- ECU hardware and software numbers, with an identification report where available.
- Current symptoms or fault codes, even if the request is primarily for calibration.
- Known hardware changes, previous software work and recent manufacturer updates.
- The requested outcome and whether you need vehicle work, ECU testing or file support.
- For garages, the tool and read method, file history and who will install and validate the agreed file.
You do not need to upload an ECU file to make the first enquiry. Do not send tool passwords, licence keys or account credentials. Keep the original material unchanged and wait for the agreed transfer instructions.
How the enquiry works
Start with the details above through our contact form. We will confirm whether the application can be supported, what assessment is needed and the proposed price. Any additional work should be agreed before it goes ahead. A file request is not automatically a vehicle booking or an accepted programming job.
Workshop appointments take place at Unit 2, Long Wittenham Rd, Didcot, Oxfordshire, OX11 9BH. Garages elsewhere in the UK can enquire about suitable file support and postal ECU assessment. Please confirm the arrangement before sending a unit or travelling.
